Receives patients who have suffered brain injuries or spinal injuries recently, with the aim of implement a multidisciplinary treatment and seeking to maximise the recovery.
The mission is to stay in touch with the hospitals in order to be able to derivate the patients to the centre as soon as they are stable and can start their fully rehabilitation.
The medium hospital stay takes about 9 days. But there is also a relevant group of patients which stays more than 45 days. This rehabilitation unit seeks the decrease of the medium stays to 3 or 4 days.
The unit does the multi-professional treatment of a patient who can be benefited from a hospital stay and that suffers from secondary disabilities to traumatological surgical and non-surgical processes, neurological processes and inmobility. Eventually, the main objectives will be to recover as much as possible their deficits, to prevent complications, to guide and support their relatives, to establish strategies of secondary prevention and to prepare the return to their homes.
Unit for specialised attention to chronic patients with clinical instability or great disability who need to be interned in the hospital for a period of time, usually shorter than 60 days.
